Allen Ginsberg

Learned about this guy in class yesterday and I love the way he reads his poems. He sounds so strange.. But it fits the poems. Very cool. I should warn you about the Second one called "America". It's slightly harshly put.. And he does drop an f-bomb. so just be cautious if that sort of thing bothers you, or if there are kids around.
The First one is called "A Supermarket in California" and is family friendly. Enjoy =]

  1. Ginsberg is an interesting choice for you to post. Lots to learn from him, no doubt, but I'm wondering about what you think in regards to what he's actually saying.

I know only a little of him, of course, but this might be an interesting discussion.

  2. look up the lyrics and really look into them.
He's not exactly bashing America. That's why it's interesting.

  3. I learned about Ginsberg in my History, and my teacher actually played America in class. He had us write our own version of America asking,"What would you write about America in 2010?" I still have mine actually. Writing flows of consciousness is pretty much one of the best things ever. The Beatniks are truly interesting. (and way underrated)
